Sabine Schmid Blackaby
After many years working as a Kindergarten teacher (Reception) in Switzerland and exploring various movement modalities in my free time, I trained as a Feldenkrais teacher in Italy, becoming a practitioner in 1997. Since then I have been developing my private practice alongside teaching regular classes and workshops.
In 2006 I completed a Feldenkrais mentoring course in Amsterdam and I now also work with students taking part in a Feldenkrais training or with newly qualified practitioners. In 2011 I took part in the Chava Shelhav Child'Space training in Amsterdam where I deepened my understanding of how to apply the theory of the Feldenkrais Method to working with babies, children and their parents. I now offer courses for parents and babies where the parents learn to observe and support their baby's motor, speech, cognitive and social development with touch and guided movement in small groups. I also work individually with babies and children with developmental or neurological challenges. I later assisted and then co-taught in the subsequent Child'Space trainings in Amsterdam and have become an Assitant Trainer in the Feldenkrais Method in 2020.
